As the Philippine Society for Training & Development holds its 37th National Convention at the Apo View Hotel in Davao City on May 17-19, 2011, some members of its Board of Trustees (BOTs) will be handing on the torch to others after serving the board and the society for one short but fruitful year. All these BOT members are practitioners and executives from the different companies or organizations, who have generously lent their expertise and time in serving the organization whose aim is to advocate organizational results through workplace learning and development and to professionalize practitioners of the field. But as the policy of the society goes, of the 11 eleven members of the boards, only six of them (those who topped in the number of votes) will continue to serve for another year, while the others will have to be replaced by new members elected by the majority of the membership.
The officers who will continue to serve for another year (2011-2012) are Pido Aguilar Jr (Abundance!), Milalin Javellana (PAHROD/Coffey International), Vivien Arnobit (MMLDC), Elvie Tarrobal (Career Clinic), and Adrian Robles (MERALCO). The current President of the board, Mr. Jesse Francis Rebustillo (Phil Daily Inquirer), will automatically serve the succeeding year’s board as Immediate Past President. Outgoing officers include Fe Marie Cabantac (People Right Inc.), French Vibar (VSO Bahaginan), Paola Antonio (MERALCO), Abby Arenas-De Leon (Personi-fi Image Consulting) although the Society allows outgoing BOT members to seek re-election.
