Full Course on Learning and Development Needs Analysis

Course Description

By the end of the three (3) day workshop, participants will be able to identify and present the training needs of organizations, groups, or individuals using the appropriate data gathering methods applicable for each problem or opportunity-based approach to needs assessment.

Course Objectives

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the importance of conducting needs assessment before designing a training program
  • Describe the process of need assessment at different levels
  • Identify training need using the “problem-solving” or  “opportunity-based” approaches
  • Select and apply the appropriate data-gathering and data-analysis method for each approach
  • Present TNA findings and prepare a TNA report

She has had twenty-five years of solid, hands-on experience in the field of workplace learning and performance improvement. Her sixteen years in the human resource and organization development function of an organization was with Philippine Airlines. The last ten years she spent providing training and organization development consulting and training services to business, government and academe as a professional independent consultant.

She has been involved with the Philippine Society for Training and Development since the 1980s participating in Convention and Committee work. She volunteered in the PSTD project with the DTI in 1987 when PSTD members facilitated teambuilding workshops for the various departments and units in the department as its contribution to nation building.  In 2004 and 2005, she served in the Board as Secretary. At present, she is the Chair of the Membership Committee of the Society. Her major project is the creation and implementation of a computerized membership database system. She graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (UP 1981, Cum Laude).
