Course Description

The Philippine Society for Talent Development (PSTD), Inc. is a professional organization for practitioners in the field of Training and Development (T&D) in the Philippines. It is committed to the professional development of its members as well as the development of the profession itself.

As one of its flagship programs, PSTD has developed the Certified Training and Development Manager (CTDM) Program to help Trainers create a positive and productive learning environment for employees and the organization as a whole. Learning and Development practitioners must have a concrete understanding of the training management function, as well as how to directly link training initiatives and programs to the company’s overall objectives.

Terminal / Performance Objectives:

By the end of this course, the participants will be able to formulate T&D plans that set the strategic and operational directions of the function, direct their team, and evaluate the implementation of such T&D Plans using appropriate concepts, tools, processes, and approaches.

By the end of the course, the participants would be able to:

    • Promote the value of a structured and systematic management of the T&D function
    • Identify the roles and required competencies of an effective T&D Head
    • Formulate Strategic and Implementation T&D Plans aligned with business needs and backed with relevant T&D data
    • Develop a Stakeholders Communication Plan to engage key stakeholders and get their buy-in and support
    • Use appropriate monitoring tools to check the progress of plan implementation
    • Prepare Management Reports or Dashboards aligned with the requirements of key stakeholders
    • Enable the training team to effectively carry out the T&D Plan

    AVP / Head of HR
    PETNET, Inc.

    Jun Roy is a seasoned Talent Development professional with more than 25 years of experience in HR.  He has designed and facilitated numerous training across various industries here and abroad. Currently, he is the Assistant Vice President/Head of HR of PETNET, Inc., a financial company which is part of Union Bank and the Aboitiz Group. He is also a member of the Program Committee and Talent Development Framework Steering Committee of PSTD. He was formerly the Head of Training and Development of Pru Life UK. During his more than six years in the Middle East as a Head of Corporate Performance and HR of a group of companies, he was able to successfully implement Knowledge Management.

    Jun studied MBA at Ateneo Graduate School of Business and Industrial Relations at University of the Philippines – School of Labor Relations.  He is a Certified DDI Facilitator, Professional Scrum Master, and Accredited MBTI Facilitator.
