Trainers need to be competent researchers too!
In this post-pandemic world of new learning technologies and methodologies, we, talent development (TD) professionals, must ask the right questions, choose the right research methods and gather data the right way. We must continue to explore more innovative and effective ways to deliver content and achieve learning outcomes and to understand more about learning experience. Given the amount of organizational resources allocated to L&D and TD, we need to have a solid grasp of research methods that help us make sound, data-driven decisions.
With these in mind, the Philippine Society for Talent Development (PSTD) is proud to bring you its 1st Talent Development Research Conference in the country. This premiere event is happening on July 27, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at Discovery Primea Makati.
This conference shall be PSTD’s “venue for featuring research on current TD priorities, issues and concerns” hence, encouraging practitioners to apply research methods in their initiatives collectively creating new knowledge, insights and frameworks to succeed given the TD requirements of the new normal.
The morning session starts with a learning session on “Research Methods for L&D Practitioners”. It continues with the results of PSTD’s “Career Management Practices and Challenges Survey” (an online survey that ran until June 2) to be presented by Fourthwall, an independent research group.
In the afternoon, four (4) insightful research papers on relevant TD topics will be presented. The research topics range from transition from face-to-face delivery to online learning, effects of work-from-home setting on various employee dimensions to leadership-as-practice and organizational change. The presenters come from prestigious organizations: Maya’s People Group, De La Salle University, Graduate School of Leadership and Change, and Ateneo Center for Organization Research and Development.
PSTD members can avail of a discounted investment rate of Php 5,000. Registration fee for Non-PSTD members is at Php 6,000. The investment fee includes access to the research conference, AM and PM snacks, lunch and Certificate of Attendance.
